what should I use for a tranny?
Over the summer and winter I'm going to be building an engine for the formula. With the parts I'm planning to use, it should have well over 400hp. I have been looking into transmissions from jegs and was wondering if they were any good? Should I go with their brand new th350 or get my 700r4 beefed up If I can. Which would be cheaper?
Thanks guys, Randy

You can get a stout TH350 that will be a good performer but you will be limited to what gears you can run. A 700R4 will be a bit more expensive but you will have the deeper first gear and OD. Either one can be built to handle the motor. Keep in mind, the horsepower is not what kills the trans, its the heat and the torque.
