i dont know much about rearend gears,but my question is, i have 2.73 gears right now and i would like to upgrade to 3.42 gears. which series to i get 2 series or 3 series? Also i was just going to get the richmond gears just ring and pinion is that all i need, the car already has posi.

 

you'd need a gear set to match your carreir, or a shim, or a carrier to match the new gear set, you have a 2 series carrier. i'd also get an install kit, solid spacer, and a new nut if it doesn't come with the kit.

 

Also find a good installer, because you sound like you are novice and this is not DIY job to be learning on.
