Trans going?
When I slow down the transmission down shifts and as it does this the rpms on the engine go down. Is my trans going?

If your shifter is in overdrive, then because of the overrun clutches, the engine RPM will go down when you let off the gas... Try putting the shifter in D and see if it acts differently when slowing down... It should do engine braking with the shifter in anything other than OD.

I just had my 700r4 trans rebuilt... this does it with mine. my mechanic said it was just fine that while in OD it does this... and it doesn't do it in D really... but then again i don't drive in D much... but on the highway, yes... she does do the "low rpm" stuff... where I go about 2500 rpm (well, crappy tach) and after I let off and "cruise" I will hear the car go lower and lower on rpms and see the tach dropping. It's normal, your trans is fine. Now, if it starts slipping........ you may want to get it checked out!

it really only does it once i get to about 35 miles an hour thats when i can tell it does it. A little above 35 the rpm is at like 2000 rpm then once i hit about 35 the rpm's drop. It feels like it's shifting from second to first. other than that it shifts fine.

You can adjust the TPS to stay above a certain RPM if you feel it is unsafe, or worry or whatever.. but it's normal for our cars. If you want, take it to a trans shop and have them look at it, or even talk to them. They charge $50-80/hour depending on who you go to... if they take out the trans, im pretty sure they will have to change the oil and gasket before they put it back on.. so they will charge you for that too.
*guys* am i wrong about the oil/gasket?? I dunno, my trans blew and they replaced everything it needed and gave me the huge bill afterwards
