late 3rd and 4th gen question

I want to be 100% with this, but from what I have asked and what I found, I can use a stock posi from a 00 Trans Am in my 91 Camaro stock, non-posi housing because the axle splines are the same, am I right??

I want to get this right before I start taking things apart and not being able to put them back together, thanks all!!

As for the yoke and such, I have a complete donor 4th gen rear end, I just want to put a posi in my rear and have the 4.10 gear, any input is appreciated

I read the tech article, but the rear end I have doesnt have any brake parts what so ever, and I am not about to drop $400+ on parts cause the junk yards around here have no newer Maro's or Bird's, but I just want to swap the internals because my brakes are completely redone

Yes, you can if you know how to setup rearends. I put a lsd from a 96 TA in a 86 firebird housing and used my old 28 spline axles to make my rear.

Thats the answer I wanted. I have setup a few rear ends in the past so I am confident enough I can do one more. Plus I work at an auto mechanics school as the tool room attendant, and have TONS of tools at my disposal to get it right the first time.

BTW anyone know where I can get the stronger pin and solid crush sleeve??

Ratech makes a solid crush sleeve (GM Differential Small Parts). Part no. 4111 - $17.00

You can get a zytanium cross pin for the 7.625" rear-end at Welcome to Year One - part number: D66. It's $31.95.
