swapped from an '85 to an '88 700r4- cable difference- problem
ok an 85 with factory Q jet, is what im working on
the 700r4 was burnt up
so i took an 88 700r4 and put in place of the fried 85 700r4 tranny
the 88 was a TBI 350
the cable on the 88 is alot shorter than the 85 one was
the 85 cable was burnt melted junk
the hole in the case on the 85 tranny for the tV cable end and seal to go into is alot bigger than the 88 is
what do i do ?
why did they change this size ?
thanks for anything

head for the parts store and get a new cable.... - the aftermarket cables are built utilizing the smaller cable end - when used for the large hole, the factory type cylinder+washer gasket is used, the later models just usually just use a washer type seal.
