Is this a trans related problem?

Ive been on the gneral engine tech board. Just got my cra back from a 350 swap into a former 305 tpi '91 camaro. Ever since I've been having some driveability issues. Feels like it hesitates/leans out/not getting power to the rear.

Troubleshot every thing in the engine. Now, the engine feels strong and running well, but when I drive part throttle it feels like the trans will upshift (into OD) and my rpms will drop a couple hundred before giving it more gas and then it will drop back into 3rd.

It happens under normal acceleration but when I get on it hard its fine.

It doent feel like its slipping at all. Just feel like the trans is upshifting too soon or something. But the rpms will dance around slightly too when this is happening.

The engine is a rebuilt 350 for a tpi car and the flex plate I used was aftermarket stock from rockauto.com. The trans was rebuilt last summer. I havent had a chance to change my fluid yet and its been about 15k since the rebuild.
