Car: 1980 old cutlass

Engine: 305 modified

Transmission: 350 turbo

Axle/Gears: 2.29

from 2.29 to 3.23 gears on a th350 not happy

people have told me my tranny is the problem shoulod switch to a 700r4 off the line not even a screech but i can say that once it hits second it flys! is it my converter, my tranny have a low first gear or what

Axle/Gears: good question...

Th350 has a 2.52 first. 700R4 has a 3.06. If you wanna be fast off the line with a TH350 you need at least 3.42 gears, or 500HP. A 2400 converter would definetly help
