bad knock in reverse

Engine: 350 tpi, 305 tbi
Transmission: 700R4,T5
Axle/Gears: G92
bad knock in reverse
ok people this is my problem i have a 1992 z28 and every time you put it in reverse it does a bad knock then its fine, it only knocks when you first put it in gear it just started happening today. any ideas what the problem is?

Does it knock when you put it in drive from reverse? Could be something like a transmission mount, torque arm bushing, U-joint...

no thats the werid thing it only knocks when you put in the reverse gear never anything else only when you put in reverse if you put in drive it doesnt do a thing....

You could see if any parts lurched when it was put into reverse, which would point the problem. If everything's tight, it might be an internal transmission problem.
