T.V adjustment / idiot alert
well my '87 camaro with a 700R4 wont shift out of first , so i've done a search and found that the first thing to do is adjust my T.V cable. i have looked at the tech post on how to do it but i cant seem to find the lever on my TPI engine. i can see a lever with cables going into it on the right hand side of the tpi unit ( as you look at the engine ) but there does not seem to be any way of adjusting it , and i cant seem to find a metal tang to push as the article states.
please help , im going mad. a picture of the lever and metal tang would be ideal, there is a pic on the tech page but i cant make it out and it does not resemble whats on my 350 TPI

The "D" tang is not on the lever. Find the cable end of the TV cable on the throttle body - it has a plastic connector on it. Follow that cable back towards the intake plenum to the plastic stop which protrudes through the plenum on the V6 (not sure on the V8). The "D" tang is behind that stop, usually underneath the plenum (on the V6 at least).
This article has some better pictures (it's on a carbed car but the cable and adjustment tang are the same).

I don't know why your car isn't shifting out of first, but check out this post and what fixed the problem.
