cant bolt torque arm to tranny

Hi, I had an 86 Iroc auto that is now in progress of being a 350 T-5. I have the engine and tranny in the car, but the torque arm cannot be connected to the tranny. The bracket doesnt fit, the bolt holes are different. Now I'm not sure what the T-5 is out of, but I just had it rebuilt. I took the T-5 out of an 83 camaro that a guy had fixed up completely so I'm not sure if it is orginal or not. I have half of the torque are mount that actually fits the tranny, but I cannot seem to find the other side. Where could I find the other side of it?
It is totally different than the one that hooked to my 700R4. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks
Thomas

Welcome to TGO!

You have to get yourself a torque arm bracket for a T-5. The manual, and auto transmission brackets differ. As long as its a bracket from a manual, you should be good to go. To the best of my knowledge, there is only two types of brackets. GM did not change them.

Thanks for the fast reply, if I cant find the other half of my manual bracket, then what would be the best place to get another one? Junkyard? or is there a place where I could get a new one?

Thanks

also one torque arm mount is for the lip facing the driveshaft, one for the lip facing away.
Mine the lip faces the driveshaft, and mine is circa '82. I think up to '84 it was like that, then it swapped.

zach there has one, or hawks thirdgen might have it, or modern day muscle. The 3rd gen wrecking yard sponsors.
