6 speed from the firehawks
jsut wondering if anyone knows about the 6 speed from the firehawks... i want to know if its the same 6 speed from the 93-96 trans am comeros..
secondly... can i put it in my 92 t/a.... will it fit the stock opening if i got the auto tranny?
third... i know i will need a drive shaft becuase the standard tranny is shorter, but will the tranny bolt up easly? if not what will i have to do to get it in there?

First, what's a comero?? Second, the 91-92 Firehawks used a ZF6 from the same year Corvettes. That trans is best avoided as its impossible to find the correct bellhousing to fit an f-body. Get yourself a T56 from either a 93-97 F-body or the aftermarket T56 from Tremec. See the tech article on this website for more details.

If the tranny is from a Firehawk, shouldnt it already have the correct Bellhousing to fit in an FBody? The Firehawk was/is an FBody right?

If it's a 93-97 Hawk, that uses a standard SBC style bellhousing and is easliy aquired and bolts right to a SBC..
98+ Hawks (and f-body's) have a different bellhousing (not a problem to swap to teh 93-97 style) and the input shaft is longer making the trans harder to retrofit.

You want a 6 speed(T56) from any of the 93-97 z28s or trans ams...Id also go for a 94-97 and not the 93' but all will work.
If you re-read the above you could have figured this out on your own. Your on a camaro/firebird site, people are gonna give you a hard time about spelling the name right.

Between Zephyr and Kevin91Z's replies, your question has been well answered. I suggest you read the tech article on Andris' site, T56 6 Speed Conversion for 82-92 F-bodies.
