Fluid leak where speedometer cable connects to transmission

1989 Iroc with 700R-4. Noticed a leak on the driveway, it's minor but how is this repaired?

I've only dealt with T5's, but since my 85 and your 89 have cable-driven speedos, I assume (and you know what that makes me) that the O-ring around the speedo sleeve is worn and leaking.

either the large O ring or you need a all new speedo gear. Could be the shaft wearing out the plastic.

Thanks, I'll look for that "O" ring this weekend.
