700R4 Rebuild
I have a 327 that has been boared .60 over and a weind stealth intake manifold and World Product heads they are 76CC heads they are the touqer heads. with a edelbrock 600 made in to a 625. I was wondering about special things that I need to worry about when Rebuilding this 700R4 Trans this winter. I have no idea what kind of HP or Touque to expect out of this this would be a nice question to ask at this time if anyone has an idea of what it might be. I am also wondering if anyone can help me determine what kind of parts to be putting in this Trany. I want some kind of shift kit. It is going to have 373 rear end I am also getting that build this winter.
Thanks
Also Estimated cost as well

Well I have been reading a lot of posts on the 700R4 and reading about HP and I guess I really need to know what I am looking at for HP befor I need to know what I should get for the Trany? Right?

True. If you know the approx hp and torque, along with the rpm ceiling of the motor, you will be better prepared to plan the trans build.
Go to Performance Transmissions–specializing on 700r4 and 4L60e - 700R4 Rebuild Kit-Street/Strip this should be more than enough for what you are putting out. If you have any questions on this, let me know?

Now that looks like a nice kit. The next question is. Is it really that hard to rebuild the Trany> now I hear a lot of different opinions on this matter. some say oh god not that and some say if you can rebuild an engine you can rebuild a trany. If I have a good Trany shop do it was should I be looking at for price. And that kit says 550HP but what about Tourque I no that I will be fine with the HP but What about the Torque and is there any place that you know of to get an estimate on HP or Tourque.
Thanks for you help It is greatly appreciated

There are few things you need to know from what I hear. I'm am about to start tearing into mine in the next few days.
1) CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!!! You can never get the parts too clean. Dirt kills a transmission.
2)Keep everything in order as you take it apart. You misplace one shim and you might as well throw it all in a box and set it out on the curb.
3)Petrolium Gelly (Vasoline) used to lubricate parts when you put everything together. I guess that is compatible with tranny fluid. NO GREASE! I'm not sure if assembly lube would work or not. I would call a shop on that one though.
4)Many cases of beer to keep your nerves calm. Not enough to screw things up though.
5) Take your time. You are not in a race. No matter how bad you want to drive the car, you can spend an extra day and do things right and the trans will last more than 5 minutes.
If I am wrong on any of those, let me know.
