One problem after another!!!

Okay so I just got my new engine in a couple weeks ago, and a few days ago my tranny is acting up, i have a 700R4, ive had many transmission problems already, replaced the transmission once already, and then after that replaced the governor gear.

Well here is the problem:

I take off in DRIVE, pedal to metal...going..... going... shifts from 1st to 2nd, going... going.... bam tries to shift to 3rd and slips totally loose.

So I try in OVERDRIVE, pedal to metal, get to around 50 and slips, so i ease off the pedal a little and slowly get it up to around 65 with overdrive, hittin around 4000rpm's.

If i run the car in 1st or 2nd gear on the shifter, it seems to be fine the entire time.

What i've done:
Took governor cap off, checked governor springs and plastic gear, seem to be fine and same way as when i put it in like 6 months ago.

Took transmission pan off, got rid of all fluid, cleaned pan and magnet, replaced filter and gasket.

Please let me know your input. Thanks.

The symptoms you describe are typical of a 700 with a hurt 3-4 clutch pack. This is a common way for them to die.

im not familiar with what a clutch pack is.

Is the transmission garbage now?

Need to be rebuilt?

Just need new clutch pack?

Can be done with transmission in?

If it is hurt as I suspect, a full rebuild or replacement is the solution. It cannot be repaired in the car. You could pay someone to pressure test the trans. That will tell if it is hurt.
