What tranny is going to be used?

The normal off the shelf flywheel and clutch for an '84 camaro with a 5 speed should work fine, but that V-6 tranny won't work with your V-8. I assumed you're going to get a V-8 T-5 to match the new V8, then obviously, my first sentence in this paragraph makes sense

ooh, ooh, I finally get to use this;

This is what it's like, trying to use a V6 tranny with a V8. Wrong hole spacing.

well i call the tech line at summit they told me that its not a matter of bolt paterns because all flywheel bolts are at 60 degree intervals. he said what it come down to is whether or not my input shaft is long enough to work with the v8 bell housing

Ummm actually the V6 input shaft is about 1/4" too long. If you read through some of the older posts on here about putting a V6 T5 behind a V8, some people ended up cutting that much off the pilot area at the end of the input shaft. The only other challenge is finding a clutch disc that's big enough diameter for a V8 with a 14 spline hub instead of 26.
