700r4 upshift sleeve

I just got my transmission rebuilt.
On the repair bill it doesn't say that it has a 3-4 upshift sleeve.

I have the tranny in the garage now. Just wondering if I was to take the pan off, would I be able to see this upshift sleeve? Or do I have to take the valve body off??

I don't want to put it in the car and then find out that it doesn't work(waste of time and atf)

Does any one have a pic?

Is it hard to put in?

I have used the search button and there are no pics.

Does anyone have a link to pics?

The upshift sleeve is what's on the end of the TV cable inside the trans. I couldn't imagine that they would leave that piece out. All you have to do to see it is remove the trans pan. Don't have to mess with the valve body at all. It's probably in there, but whether it's a stock one or the B&M one, who knows? The B&M sleeve delays your kickdown until you're into the throttle 3/4 of the way, where the stock one gives the kickdown at 1/2 throttle. I have the B&M sleeve in mine, and I like it a lot better than the stock one.

Anyone have a pic of the bottom of the tranny and show me what it looks like?

I don't have a picture available, but it's pretty easy to spot. When your trans is sitting normally like it would when it's in the car, the sleeve is located on the passenger side towards the front when you have the pan removed. All you have to do is look where the TV cable enters the valve body area. The sleeve is silver, about an inch in diameter and about 2-3 inches long. It's what the plunger at the end of the TV cable moves in and out of. Floor Guy or Pro Built might be able to provide you with a picture if you can't locate it. Or if you go to Summit Racing's website, you can look up B&M's 3/4 kickdown sleeve, and they should have a picture of it.

Its in the valve body, right above the bar at the bottem with the Z on it. That is the TV Sleeve and Plunger.

Thanks for the quick reply!!!

Is it hard to change?
Anyone have instructions?

May be a stupid question, but, do I have to pull it out to see if it is the right one ? or can I see which one it is by looking at it?

They're really simple to change. If you end up buying the B&M sleeve, it comes with instructions. It's been so long since I changed mine, I don't remember exactly what I had to do, but it only took about 45 minutes or so, and that included putting a new filter and pan gasket in while I was right there. I think you have to undo that bracket with the "Z" stamped on it if I remember right. I think it just slides out after you get the bracket out of the way. Personally, I don't know them well enough to identify which one yours would be just by looking at it. I can go hunt around in my garage for my original. If I can find it, I'll snap a pic of it and email it to you.
