Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
A tap won't do any good, if the threads are stripped out of the hole. Kind of hard to cut new threads in metal that's not there any more.

You'll need to Heli-Coil the holes.

It will work. If memory serves, the tap will go right in.

What holes?

If its the trans pan bolts, they make oversize self tapping screws in the Help section.

Gets u a couple oddball bolts, but it works quite well.

I would personally helicoil it, but some people arent machanical in nature so the Help stuff would still be a valid fix.
