put shift kit in 140K miles trans??

I just got my car and hate the slow shifts, it doesnt seem to be slipping ( I really dont know this is the first auto I have owned lol) but i hate the slow shifts under WOT and i fell the trans wont last if it does that much longer.

Would it be wise to add a shift kit and see how that works?
Or will it toast the trans? Should i just save for a rebuild?

thanks

As long as the tranny is in good shape and working properly (for stock) a shift kit shouldn't hurt. Just don't go overboard with the kit though. I have a kit from TCI that offers 3-4 different setups from heavy duty to full on race so keep that in mind. My car had 80K miles when I installed this same shift kit ( I went with heavy duty) in my car and the car now has over 163K on the same trans and shifts just as good now as it did then. I also have the Corvette servo too.

if the trans is ok and not slipping then it would be ok i guess, i would look into transgo...there shift kits are better than most and its because most kits just increase line pressure with springs etc while the transgo kits actually rerout the fluid to increase shift responsiveness and allows u to hold any the gears to any speed for manual shifting or just place the shifter in D and allow the trans to shift normally with harder shifts
