is my car setup with both speed sensors
I have an 89 rs L03 camaro. I noticed a plug hanging down under the trans. it appears to be the plug for a trans mounted VSS. the car has a speedo cable hooked up and the speedometer works fine. i have an intermittent stalling issue that only happens when idling and i shift from P or N to R or D. it acts like the computer can't quite adjust for the load. I read somewhere that when the VSS is not hooked up the computer does not open the IAC at low rpm's because it thinks the car is still in park so it will occasionally stall. from the posts on this site i am assuming my car should have the speedometer based VSS. but if this is the case i am wondering why the plug is there. I am wondering if the trans may have originally been with an electric speedo and it was replaced with a trans with manual speedo and the person doing the swap maybe replaced the speedo to a manual cable drive. that would explain the speedo working and possibly the stalling issue but that seems like a lot of work for nothing and it totally conflicts with everything i have read on here. I am wondering what you guys think or find a way to test and see if the computer is getting the info it needs from the VSS.

it is the two wire flat plug with round male terminals. it has a brown and yellow wire coming out of it. it looks just like the plug that plugs into the trans mounted VSS and it is in the same harness as the TCC plug.
