T-5 Interchangeability
T-5 Interchangeability
I have a '82 z28, and I have a T-5 laying around from like a '86. Will the z-bar setup from a '82 work with the hydraulic bell housing?I dont have the slave/master, and I also need to find a clutch fork. Which forks will work? Thanks for any imput that you guys might have.

The Z-bar ought to work with the hyd BH, as long as the bracket for the slave cyl doesn't interfere. I'm not sure though, it's been about 20 years since I threw away the crappy linkage off of my 83 when I swapped it over to hydraulics.
The T-5 itself is identical, externally. No need to use the 86 BH.
Only place I know to reliably get a fork that reliably works, reliably every time reliably, is GM. Your local stealership.
Buy one somewhere else at your own risk. Be aware that if you do, you too could be joining the ranks of the people posting about "my clutch doesn't release" or "my brand-new clutch slips" or that sort of thing.
If you want they hyd instead, you can buy the whole assembly, filled with fluid and pre-bled even, also from GM. THen all you'd need is the hyd pedal assembly, and to massage the hole in your firewall a little bit.

There's an ebay seller that carries new clutch forks for both the hydraulic and mechanical stlyes. They're definitely different from each other. The seller is "the gearbox", and they have an online store.
