Govenor removal and installation.

OK, Can anyone remove and reinstall there govenor, or more specifically reinstalling the governor cover, without lowering the tranny? It would be sooo much easier for me to not have to remove anything to get to the govenor. Instead I have to remove my dizzy cap, y-pipe, trans crossmember, and lower it as far down as it will go just to get the cap back on. There has to be an easier way????????

when replacing my governor I did it with the tranny still in, popped the cap off by using a hammer and a flat head screwdriver, kept nudging it a little bit from every direction i could get to it at. Trying not to bang up the cap too much, the difficult part is getting the cap back on and having it go on flush at the top where it isnt very accessible, but i managed with hammering it in with a crowbar, dont hammer the actual cap part, hammer the outer edge where the metal meets the metal, otherwise u will just dent the cap up.

im about to swap trannies again but this time I will be doing governor when tranny is out, will be much easier.
