Trans swap gone wrong

I was in the process of doing my trans swap. I was about to install the trans when I noticed something I overlooked it had only a 14 spline shaft. It was supposed to be a 91 WC from a Z28, But its an 86 Bw from a V6 car. I am running low on funds, and doubt I can get a refund. If I buy a custom clutch, I know it will work. But what kind of Rpm will I turn, I have a 3.73 posi in back. Other than high rpms what kind of problems? What would you do, Remember I'm low on funds

i did the same thing. but i used a 4cyle camaro clutch with a 14 spine. it works but anything after 4g it slips real bad. i don't know if its because its a cheap clutch or what. eventually you will have to get the right trans.

I think I read somewhere on here that the clutch disc for a S10 w/4.3 V6 will work. Yeah, the ratios in a V6 trans suck behind a V8 engine. First gear is way too steep, especially w/3.73's, and 1st through 4th ratios aren't spaced evenly enough for optimal performance. 5th gear isn't much different though, so your final cruising rpm won't be affected too much. As said above, you'll want to get a V8 trans when you can afford it to make the car more enjoyable to drive.

I had a seconed gen f body that I had mated up to a pontiac 400 motor and a trans from a 4cyl monza and it ripped! I was syrpised on how long it lasted until catostrophic failer 2 years later when my ujoints failed (front) and somehow cracked the casing
