Like all the posts said that came up when you searched, the ONLY rear that's a direct bolt-in to a 82-92 Camaro/Firebird, is one out of another 82-92 Camaro/Firebird. There are no other vehicles whose rears will bolt in. Even other cars with the same model of rear, such as Monte Carlo or S trucks, which have the same internals, will not bolt into the car.
The ones out of 93-02 Camaro/Firebird are close to a direct bolt-in, but not quite. However since the differences are small, it's not too hard to swap them in.
As far as gear ratios, the only way to know what gears are in a rear, is to pull the cover and look. Which it's unimaginable that you'd be buying one without looking at it to see what condition it's in anyway; so while you're inspecting it, make a point of counting the teeth.
I'm not sure what was ambiguous about all those other posts where people have asked this same question and gotten this same answer; but FWIW, that pretty much sums it up.

3.42 was in the 2.8L and 700r4 cars and 5 speed ones got 3.73 alot i know
and 3.73 was in the L69 with 700r4 cars
dunno any others with these ratios off the top of my head
if its an LG4 car then its most likely 2.73 or possibly 3.23
the iron dukes i dunno
basically if its not a engine vin code digit H car then its probably originally(from factory)a good ratio, most likely, but who knows what may be under it by now
best bet is to pull all diff covers and look
good luck
