Moser 12-bolt w/OEM PBR brakes

I'm planning to replace my rear-end with a Moser 12-bolt and I haven't found any information on thier website about installing the factory PBR brakes from my current 9-bolt. Do they offer mounting brackets?

Like my Strange 12 bolt you will probably have to order brackets. As far as PBR brakes go they (Strange) told me then do not offer brackets for my L98/1LE rear brakes. Regardless, I bought a set of LT1 rear brakes and the brackets from strange for LT1 brakes ($150 a pair for brackets).

I bought LT1 brakes off ebay for my moser 9" and you'd have to do the same, they offer no easy solutions for 82-92 brakes at all.

Is it possible my old 9-bolt brackets could be modified for re-use on the Strange rear?

no you'd need 10 bolt LT1 brake backing plates, there are no options for the 82-92 brakes at all, even worse for the goofy 9 bolt pattern.

Re: Moser 12-bolt w/OEM PBR brakes

I use the 88-92 PBR brakes on my Moser 12 bolt.

Easy actually with 10 bolt backing plates, not sure on the 9 bolts.

Either way this may halp some...

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...ht=counterbore

Check out post #7 for dimensions to help modify the backing plate. And I repeat..

"...found it...

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ht=counterbore

"counterbore the brake bracket 3.150" to a depth of .110"

the "alternative" method says just make the whole thing 3.150" all the way through, and then you need a 1/8" shim between the brake plate and the retainer plate."

I used the first method myself..and gave those exact words to the machine shop and they came out perfect!HTH"

What did Moser say when you called them? They've always been VERY helpful with things like that whenever I've talked to them.

They weren't much help on this one, they have no caliper brackets for his application but I did find a set through Baer, $83 each direct fit.
