Axle Questions ? ?

Well folks did the complete rear drivetrain rebuild including aluminum driveshaft and I'm still shakin'. The only thing I haven't changed are the axles themselves and they measure out to be good but who knows. Two questions: Has anyone ever cured a vibration problem by changing to aftermarket axles? Moser axles seem to be the easiest for me to pickup from a place like Summit. Do the normal Moser's work with stock bearings and seals or are they a different size? Anybody want to chime in with a different axle or supplier, feel free.

Yes, you could accidentally fix a vibe by changing the axles, if one of them is causing it by being bent.

First thing to do when troubleshooting a vibe, is to figure out if it's at wheel speed, drive shaft speed, or engine speed. Which is yours?

Re: Axle Questions ? ?

Problem is related to road speed. Don't wanna go there here, got a huge post going elsewhere. Axles are all that's left. I noticed the seals, which are only 4 days old are weeping a bit, so it might be a good reason to change the axles. Plus they've got about 120,000 miles on them and I don't think the previous owner was gentle on the poor old open diff. Other question is still open. Do the Moser's or any aftermarket axle run with stock bearings?
