need help identifying transmissions
i was just wondering if anyone knows of a website like mortec that decodes transmissions. thanks

if you have a tag on it and the code is readable(three digit code) then call parts counter at your local dealer but you have to know the year make model
most of the tag codes have the last two digits of the model year though
such as a 3L80HD tranny i have here from an '87 R-10(2wd) pickup, it is tag code LJA 87
on some models of trannies there is a stamped in code and the first digit is a number
that number is the last digit of the model year it was installed in
