Anyone running an axle tube brace?

Just wondering if anyone is running one of these?

What is the general opinion on these braces?

Re: Anyone running an axle tube brace?

I'm running one.
- The tires moving forward pulls forward on the ends of the tubes, thus creating flex, especially at launch/take-off. Bracing them back theoretically helps lessen the flex, by not allowing the tubes to flex forward.

As we all know, case distortion is the death of a 10-bolt,mainly by allowing the gear pattern to shift, possibly allowing the gears to break or strip. Every little bit has to be helpful, but there is much debate as to whether or not they do enough. - Mine has been surving 5k+ clutch side-steps and 1.66 60ft's, but with a 3.73 gear. It seems that any lower of a gear is very hard to keep alive, as the smaller pinion has less tolerance for flex. - Thus my reason for converting to a 8.8 once I'm finished with the new chassis.

I'm pretty sure F-bird'88 runs one as well.

Shagwell,

Are you running the Jegs unit? Do you have any pics? I'm ordering the parts to do my rear end and was not sure whether to get the summit or TA cover or the Jegs unit and run the brace.
