Re: Rearend carrier question??
as of 1986 the 10 bolts had 26 splines. late 89 they swapped to 28 splines.
you looking for a car that has the same spline count? or the same size carrier?

Re: Rearend carrier question??
If you are just looking for the carrier, do a search on the net. Lots of GM vehicles had the 10 bolt 26 spline carrier, just the axle housing and the axles themselves were different lengths so they don't interchange. If you are just looking for a gear set or a posi unit, Astro vans, S-10's, some Monte Carlo's, etc. all interchange the stuff in the housing.

Re: Rearend carrier question??
Unfortunately the only donor car for a posi is another '82-'88 Fbody as far as I remember. Another one of the 3rd gen parts that you can't steal from another GM vehicle.
Astro, S-10, etc, used either an open rear, or the dreaded gov lock. (you're better off with an open, less shrapnel).
Not sure about the Monte's though.
