trans temp question

what would be better putting the probe in the pan, or on the line going to the cooler? i would like to put it in the pan but i don't have a drain plug so i would have to weld in a bung, the line seems eaier but it might not be as accurate. any suggestions?

Re: trans temp question

I use to have one in the return line form the radiator so I knew how cool the tranny fluid was. To do that you would need a "T" fitting and some compression fittings for the connections to the tranny lines.
