having problems with my 700r4

Went out driving it last night and it started going pretty high in 1st before it would shift and then it would shift real slow and soft. Then all the other gears would shift when they were supposed to but it would be really soft. Also if you gave it any kind of gas it would slip. Any ideas on whats wrong? This is in a 85 Z28

I would change the fluid and try a quart of lucas oil treatment fluid in it along with regular transmission fluid to fill, new filter and that good stuff!

DO NOT USE THE HIGH MILEAGE TRANSMISSION FLUID
