No 4th after Transgo Jr. Kit Please Help

Well I finally bit the bullet and put in the Transgo Jr. Kit that I had lying around. I also put in the Corvette Servo, new Transgo seperator plate, .500 boost valve, new VB gaskets. After doing all this I now don't have 4th gear. When I first got done I set the TV cable by pushing it back towards the firewall and then opening the throttle wide open. It didn't click or anything. This didn't really suprise me because it never has in the past either. Shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd were real late (4000RPM) and hard. Messed with the TV Cable some more, by pulling all the way out a few times and then pushing it back in. Reset it using the above method.Seems to shift good now from 1-2 and 2-3 but still am not getting 4th gear. I tried pulling it out a few clicks with out any difference. It seems as if the pressure on it is good. All was well before the install other than some flare from 2-3. I am kind of leaning towards the TV valve binding but I would think that I would not be getting a good 1-2, 2-3 shift. Could I have put a checkball in the wrong spot or have a hole covered in the seperator plate? Just for reference it is an 89 700r4 with the Aux VB. I need help please. Thanks.

It may be in the servo assembly. The last piece plus the cover make up the 4th apply for the band. It's also easier to check then dropping the pan & valve body. Makes it a good place to start.

I will take a look at that. The only thing that I could think of there would be if I would have put the 4th servo in backwards. Is that even possible? What about the 4th gear accumulator piston? I put the original spring in the case first and then the piston as the instructions said.

Yes, the 4th servo can be inserted backwards. Around the center shaft opening is a raised nub, both sides. The taller side faces toward the outside of the trans. The 4th servo being the last piece before the cover.

As for the front spring, I've always had trouble with it. It would fall off the end of the pintle and drop into the servo bore. Never tried the trans with it like that. So I'm not sure of what would happen.

Re: No 4th after Transgo Jr. Kit Please Help

I am wondering since I put the Corvette Servo in if I still should have put the Gold Shim in that came with the Transgo Jr. Kit in the servo assembly?

Update to the ongoing problems. I did find that there was a problem with the Servo install. I broke the sealing ring on the 4th gear servo when I put it back together. I have since replaced that.
I am now down to 1 more problem. When the car is cold it shifts real late and hard. 4000rpm from 1-2 and 2-3, still no 4th. Once it warms up, after 15 minutes of driving or so, then the shifts seem normal. I am going to double check my TV cable setting. That still doesn't seem to set right. I have set it using the factory metthod. I have set it using transfixleo's method also and am able to push the cable all of the way back (no clicks). It never clicks out at WOT. I think that maybe the cable is stretched or that possibly the Spectre throttle bracket could use some adjusting.

Re: No 4th after Transgo Jr. Kit Please Help

Im having the same problem, i just installed a transgo shift kit into my 92 s10 blazer 700r4 and have no 4th gear. It shifts fine 1-2-3 but no 4th. I had to take out 3 gold washers from the servo kit just to make it fit right, maybe that was 1 too many, ill probley try and add one back in today. let me know if ya find a fix.

Wow ok found out what it was, I put the piston half in backwards(tooth side in), switched it around and works great, whoops.
