T5 getting hot?

Hey guys, yesterday I was driving home from school, it was about 75 degrees F outside, kinda humid, and I was going about 100 km/h. My temp was fine, needle didn't move too much, but a load of head was coming through my firewall, and centre console. I just noticed it today, it wasn't the exhaust, either. I'm thinking my tranny is heating up, but I don't know the reason why..

How would I gauge the temp in my tranny? I'll check the fluids today, but it was really weird.. Kinda scary if I have to fix a tranny, it's only got 191000KM, roughly 100k miles..
