Harder Shifts as the day goes on. HELP!

I have an 82 Trans Am with a 4 speed tranny. Everything is original, except I had the transmission rebuilt. As the day goes on it gets harder for me to shift gears. Sometimes it won't even go into gear. If let the car rest for a while it seems to get easier but I have no idea why this happens. I think its the actual shifter and not the tranny but I'm not sure. Has any had this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks.

hows it going, i have the same problem that you do. My clutch isn't disengaging so far I have eliminated the shifter, tranny, and clutch master and slave cylinder. now the only thing I have left is to replace the clutch itself, even though it only has about 5000 miles on it.

1st - make sure your clutch master and slave cylinder are working "with no leaking oil"

that is where i would start and then move to the clutch itself.

I am in the same boat you are in drives fine when cold, but when it heats up it doesn't disengage at all

I was thinking about adjusting the clutch pedal beacuase my car has a mechanical clutch since is pre-hydrulic clutch era. My next step was to oil down the shifter and see if that works.
