Tranny or drivetrain or Motor problem??
Well...I had a bad front u-joint which I replaced out last weekend, it drove and idled fine for 2 days, I get in and try to drive that 2nd night about 10 minutes after I just drove it and it starts up fine, revs up and started to idle, and I tried to put it in gear and it just died. It made a weird shreek noise like metal on metal and just died...I was like sh*t.
So I'm thinking somethings def wrong. I let it sit for about 30 minutes and I thought maybe the TCC had seized or something? So I unhook the TCC wiring and start the car up and tried to put it in reverse and it did the same thing, shreeek die. So I let it sit for another 30 minutes and I go back out there and start it up and hooked the TCC back up and I put it in reverse. Just fine, nothing stopped it. I was like okay...so I start to back up and it's kinda bucking like the brakes are slipping or something.
Put it in drive, just fine. Shifts from 1 to 2 to 3 to OD TCC engages just fine. WTF?
Pull up to the garage and idle into it and I'm listening and I hear something rattling around under the car. I thought maybe it was just a piece of crap in the hollow cat. But I put it in park and the noise goes away. Put it back in gear and it rattles again. I left it in drive and start to power brake and the noise gets a little louder. So I'm thinking it's something to do with the Transmission.
It drives around fine like nothing is wrong, no slipping, firm shifts. But today when I was idling at a stop sign on a busy street, I was sitting there for about 3 minutes I was just about to go and it shreeked and died. Started it back up and put it in gear and off I went.
What do you think is going on?
Can I just drop the tranny pan and look in there for metal and fish the metal out and put it back up or do I have to do something special about that? Never worked on a tranny before...
Do you think maybe my TCC is loose? OR a bolt is loose and that's what's rattling around? And it somehow hits something randomly and kills it?

Has anyone ever had that happen to them?? Does it sound like the tranny or the motor?
