Transmission end play???????????????
I just rebuilt my 95 4l60e transmission and when I got to the point to check the end play, I found that I have none. I rebuilt the tranny with a probuilt kit and a TCI input shaft/drum because the stock one was cracked. The probuilt kit came with a #68 selective washer (same as stock), now the TCI kit came with a new lo reverse roller clutch race to accept a bearing. I compared the stock race and thrust washer with the TCI race and bearing, and the TCI race and bearing measured a few thousands smaller. So with the #68 selective washer and the new race with bearing I should have more end play, right? I am confussed and trying to find out what is wrong here, or if I just have to put a smaller selective washer in. I Know that everything is in right, all the way down to the position of the bearings. How critical is end play?

Endplay is nescessary to allow the internals room to grow whan warm. If you have negative endplay, something is misassembled.

Nothing is mis-assembled, I have been over the tranny many times?
Re: Transmission end play???????????????
You can try the #67 washer here (it is the thinnest). Do you get any clearance now? Let me know what happens here?

I took the tranny apart and reassembled it the exact same way, and now it has .030 end play. Somthing must not have been seated correct the first 2-3 times?
I do not know, as long as it has end play now?
