upshift and downshift problem
hello,
i'm in France and i have a problem with my 700r4.
the 700r4 was just rebuilt with corvette servo,borg wagner clutch and band,corvette governor and tv sleeve modified to stay 4 at wot and i have lokar tv cable .
all gear upshift are ok ( in D or OD) when pedal gas is half throttle or wot but when the car decelerate , tranny won't downshift from 3 to 2.
i must give little gas to downshift normally in second gear...
and when i drive with very light throttle , car upshift normally from 1 to 2 at 2200 rpm but immediately after 2 upshift 3 ( car seems to stall and ' clunk clunk' noise from motor and trans because rpm is at idle in third gear ....)
i have lokar tv cable and seems to be ok at wot and car downshift normally when i flored the gas...
have you an idea ,whats the problem ?

(tranny is a 89 model and i have transgo vb separator plate)

i think it's the third gear but maybe it's lockup...
if it's a luckup problem ..why lockup engage early ? ( and won't disengage...)
if i stop the car , tranny downshift normally and 1 gear engage.
my old trans had only 2 wire in valve body ( red and black on lockup solenoid)
in new trans i have 3 wire : 2 on solenoid and 1 wire on 4th clutch terminal on valve body.
old tranny is a 86.new is 89
what's your opinion ?

i have the same thing happen to me. problem with mine tho is that i had mine rebuilt to handle more power, so the oil pressure went way up, and my lockup is harder to dissengage now. i have to push hard on the throddle to get it to disconnect. it will only be like that for a while, im putting a 383 in soon, but my tranny blew up, so thats where i spent my money.
