4th gen rear end???????

My brother got a 4th gen rear end from a junk yard to put in his 91 z28. The car was a 94 3.4v6 auto, firebird. Any idea what the stock gear ratio is? Thanks

Right....

Since you'll be taking the cover off anyway to change the fluid, like anyone with any degree of common sense would surely do THE VERY FIRST THING after getting some junk part before they put it in their car, this post was basically a waste of bandwidth.

Re: 4th gen rear end???????

Thank you so much! I just wanted an idea of what gear it had a$$hole. The rear end is in the car and didnt pull the cover yet. So instead of lifting the car, laying on the ground pulling the cover right now, i figured i could just simply ask someone.

Re: 4th gen rear end???????

You mean he
got a 4th gen rear end from a junk yard
and already put it in the car without changing the fluid???

I hope he realizes that alot of junkyards these days, drain all the fluids from cars on their lot; so it might not have any in it AT ALL. He might have zero choice other than laying under the car, in that case.

We just wanted so see if the wheels he got would fit. (11in wide in the rear Grand Sport wheels) So we put it in first. He has to put a limited slip in anyways.
