Re: NO TV CABLE THE PROBLEM ?
yes that is most likely the cause. the tvcable tells the tranny how par the throttle is opened and when the governor pressure exceeds the the tv pressure it shifts. with no tv cable the tranny doesnt know whats up. and no you cant use a tbi tv cable it wont reach youll need to get a tpi tv cable they are like 50 or so from gm.

x 10,000. This makes me wonder if you had the know how in the first place to install a shift kit and transmission, why the heck you would disregard the TV cable. For your sake, you should check your work twice over and make sure you didn't screw anything else up, you COULD have screwed something up internally and that is also contributing to your no shift problem. But, with that aside, YES! Get that cable back on there before you grenade your freaking transmission!
