T5 to 4L60E?

My T5 gave out today in my 84 Z28 and I cant really afford to have it rebuilt right now. I found a 4L60E for sale for $300 canadian and I've read that it has the same dimensions as the 700 R4. Will I be able to use this transmission with the stock driveshaft? Also, since it is the electronic version, what do I need for it to work? This isn't going to be in the car for long so it doesnt have to work great, even if I cant use the lockup torque converter itll be fine by me. Need to do something, I live on the highway and cant go to work 30 miles in first gear.

You're going to need the controller for it. Whether that be a PCM or an aftermarket controller. The 4L60E requires a controller for shift points and converter lockup.

Forget the 4L60E and find a 4L60.

Re: T5 to 4L60E?

I can't find any 700R4 or 4L60 units around my place for less than the cost of a rebuild for my T-5. I called around and one place will rebuild it for $750 canadian, so I'm going to do that instead. I prefer shifting my own gears, the 4L60E idea was only because it was cheap. Looks like I'll be driving my S10 until I can save up $750. Just for future reference though, a 700R4 or a 4L60, would they need any sort of controller or just the automatic flexplate?

Just the flexplate, shifter, shift cable, TV cable, associated bracketry, cooler lines, cooler, console top, and wiring to lock the TCC.
