I'm running one, no problems to report. PATC has a pretty good writeup about them, with a little chart to show when the stock parts blow up. pretty cool.

That shell is one of the first parts in a 700 to tear up as you increase the power... the splines strip out of it.

Lots of people run it. That's one of the more popular ones. Seems to do good, usually.

I had run the updated hardened OEM one from a 4L65E without it having any problems.

Re: "Beast" sun shell for 700's?

I use the Beast and sell it too, but I have run the late GM heat treated sunshell with no problems in Rick Abares high 9 second at about 138-139mph 1996 Firebird with over 2,000 passes (in less than 4 years) and no breakage. I have run it in others with no breakage at all, ever. I actually prefer them as they are "lighter" and "balanced", the Beast is not balanced, (never any balance holes found on them), and sometimes I get complaints of a vibration in third gear, and this is where it would happen if it is unbalanced.
