Re: 9" rear end

Moser Engineering has a direct replacement for us. Can get pieces or entire unit. I think an entire unit (housing, axels, center section, gears, posi) will run $2500 ish

Im gunna limit myself to a 10 grand budget for this year, so with 3grand on the rear end, ill be down to 7g's left on the camaro project and its gunna be done for good after all this.

Re: 9" rear end

I've had my car since 1999. I don't want to even think about how much I've invested in it in 8 years. It also started out as a mismatched parts, 15 second street car that I got down into the low 14's during the first race season.

If money is no object than you can easily buy a direct bolt in from any of the suppliers mentioned above. If you're trying to do it on a budget, you can buy the housing with axles for around $1000 then pick up your own center section from the junkyard or local swap meets.

Just be aware that Moser customer service sucks should you have problems with the rear.

Lot of guys have problems with gear wine to with moser, mine is friggin loud inside the car. Also plan on buying a break setup to when you order unless your good at moddifying.

Re: 9" rear end

5678 TA: Yeah its definatly an addicting hobby. I like 3rd gens cause of all the stuff you can do to them. The downside is that everything is made weak as hell on them cars. I put easy, 14k into mine last year, and im running out of stuff to do to it. I still dont know how you spent 25k unless your breaking **** left and right.
Stephen 87, That car is sick. I cant say i have seen to many 3rd gens move that quick. Ill be happy if i hit 11.5's. Thats about my goal. .
For everyone else, ill have to look into that noise problem with that moser rear end. Its probably just the way the gears are cut though. Thanks for the heads up

Re: 9" rear end

There's always a 12 bolt too, i cant see you're combo breaking that easily. Right now exotic performance plus has them on sale for like 1800 fully built with a spool and steel cover, add another 3-400 for aluminum cover, and posi unit.

edit: they have a sale right now full spooled 9" with iron case , up to 35 spline axles bare metal and 1350 yoke for 2250 free shipping!!!..add 155 for aluminum case and 250 for powdercoating if you want... not bad at all!

Read my thread in the racing forum about the car being deadly consistent but the driver isn't.
