Help ID trans in 82 Z28
What kind of automatic transmissions came in stock 5.0 1982 z28's?
And how can I tell by looking at it from underneath which one is in the car?

If it's a three speed it would be a TH 200C; the pan looks like a TH350 with the word "METRIC" stamped in it from the factory in big block letters.

Re: Help ID trans in 82 Z28
The 1982 CAmaro Service manual only has descriptions and service instructions for one auto tranny, a 200C and two manual trannies, a 76MM 4 speed and a 83MM 4 speed.
The auto tranny should have an id tag on the drivers side of the case
reading (in large letters) P * Z
82-PZ 888888
where 82 = the year
PZ = the model number (I don't know if PZ is specific to the 82 Camaro or not)
888888= serial number
I don't have a photo of the tag, but here is a photo of the bottom of the pan. As noted above, Metric can be see in lagre leters. The remainder of the text on the bottom of the pan is Hydro-Matic a Division of GM.
