gears swapping 3:08 to 3:73

Car: 1991 camaro rs
Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: 5 speed
Axle/Gears: 3:08
gears swapping 3:08 to 3:73

What i need to know is if anything but the ring and pinion has to be changed to go from 3:08 to 3:73 gears? i was going to go with 4:10 but i have to drive it 25 miles to school so 3:73 it is ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

depends on the carrier and the gears you use. if you use gears to fit the carrier basically nothing else needs changed but you'll still need a space or crush sleeve plus seals, bearings, and oil.

Thank you do the bearings need to be pre packed or are they in the rear itself and just use gear oil?

Your speedometer will not be right, but I'm sure you probably already know that.

As far as the carrier bearings, they are not packed, and are lubed by the rear end gear oil.

Plan on running around 3000rpm at 80mph.
