ok so i have a 700r4 with a 373 rear 89 camaro z28 its been changed over from tpi to carb...my problem is the tranny wont go into 3rd or od. if i manually shift it or put it in drive it goes 1st then 2nd then it like goes into neutral, i dont have the cable hooked up to make it downshift so i dont know if its that or fluid or something is blown in the tranny but anyyyy help is greatly apreciated. thanks

 

well, since you don't have the cable hooked up, that is probably what caused you to toast your 3/4 clutch pack. now ya get to rebuild the tranny. that cable is more for throttle pressure in the tranny than it is for kickdown. without it tranny's die a quick death....as you have found out.
