Cleaning up after a T5 swap
hey all,
I finished my swap the auto is gone and the T5 is in. It works great and I can say it was worth every penny.
I have a couple of items to complete though
1) the reverse light switch, anyone know what color wires it is in the bundle that came off the auto shifter?
2) does the cruise control cancel go on the clutch or the brake (or should I rig up one for each?) ?
3) my trunk switch will only work if I plug in the automatic wiring harness to the black module that used to be attached to the auto shifter, any idea how to make this work properly? Using the auto module I think the car thinks it is in park
thx in advance for your help

1. purple/yellow
2. typically goes on the brake but I can't remember for this car....i removed mine. i would say if you have the switch you can see which part of the pedal bracket it fits best on...brake or clutch
3. that's odd I didn't encounter this problem. make sure that you removed only wires and relays associated with the automatic transmission. there are several of those in the auto shifter area for the power windows and hatch release button.

Re: Cleaning up after a T5 swap
1. Reverse light wires are dark green and dark blue. Yellow & purple is the neutral safety switch.
2. There's a switch on both. The brake one is both vacuum and electric; the clutch one is vacuum only.
3. On a stick shift car, the trunk release is interlocked to the parking brake; if the engine is running, the parking brake must be on in order to release the hatch. Take a look at the connections available on the parking brake switch.
At least, that's how things were done on my 5-speed car with cruise, that I actually have, and have looked at.

Re: Cleaning up after a T5 swap
I had to push in the clutch to pop the trunk when I swapped over. I never tried the e-brake.
