Can't get 3-4 upshift below 50 mph w/ Superior Kit and 3/4 shift valve
Hi guys, I installed a Superior shift kit and also their 3/4 WOT shift sleeve in my 700R4. In addition, I also used a 0.500" TV, corvette servo and accumulators, etc.
My one grievance is that I can not get a 3-4 upshift below 50 mph at very light throttle. I have the Superior governor calibration kit and have been messing around with the weights and springs. I am able to change part and full throttle shift timing for everything except the 3-4 upshift. It seems that the Superior shift kit and/or full throttle 3/4 shift valve are dictating the higher 3-4 shift speed, and I can't change it.
Has anyone else gotten this high of a 3/4 upshift, light throttle, after using a shift kit and/or the 3/4 WOT shift valve? Both the 3/4 WOT valve and the shift kit say they change the 3/4 shift characteristics.
I just wish I could get a 3/4 upshift at very light throttle closer to 45 mph, but it doesn't look like that is a possibility w/ my current setup.
Most people would probably be glad to have a trans that shifts like mine, instead of the stock lugging 4th at 35-40 mph.
Thanks

Is your TV cable properly set? This can cause shifting issues at all speeds. Since mine has an aftermarket intake and carb, along with a Jegs bracket for the TV/Accel cables, its tricky to set. I had no idea mine was very wrong. I even got ht e Holley carb bracket specific for the TV, and set my Jegs TV bracket (adjustable) to the same point that the Holley side bracket was (non-adjustable) It actually had my TV plunger 1/8" away from the actuating cam inside the tranny. The best way is to read up on here http://www.tvmadeez.com/article/index.php for starters. There is 3 parts to this info...see top left box. Then pull the pan and have an assistant rotate the throttle. Its best to 1st be sure the throttle is truly WOT with someone inside the car on the pedal and you checking the rotation at the carb. Verify that 1st. Then have them rotate the throttle with TV connected and view its action at the VBody. It must seat the plunger at WOT. If not, follow the reset method. Hope this helps you. It may be something else. Where are your shift points on normal throttle (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and where are they WOT? All with lever in D or OD.

I am using a stock TPI throttle body on my stealth ram. The cable is set properly. This is an internal trans issue. I know what happens with carburetors and jacked up TV linkage, this is not the case here.
I have recalibrated the governor springs and weights so the shift points are very not stock. I shift 1-2 and 2-3 at 6200 WOT. Part throttle vary but are all higher than stock (I wanted it this way). However, I have been able to move the part throttle 1-2 and 2-3 shifts up and down by varying the governor springs. 3-4, on the other hand, has stayed dead set at 50 mph no matter what I do to the governor settings. It is probably not a coincidence that it reaches 3-4 at exactly this speed, probably due to the valve body reprogramming parts I used.
