PA trans 700r4

I blew up my trans loss of 3rd gear, so im going to just buy somthing new I dont like the idea of just getting my old one rebuilt - I dont want futur problems.

Ive done a few searches and come up with this one that pretty well has everything.
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...0002_818283_-1
-red eagle clutches
-sun gear & sun shell
-Trans go shift kit

other transmissions Ive found

http://performabuiltautomatics.com/G...00r4_4l60e.htm

for the price the PA trans from jegs looks like its built well with the right parts and has a good price.
I am looking for advice on where to go from here, opinions are welcome. Has anyone heard anything good or bad about PA? heres there link to there site but I dont see anything on it about 700r4's -->http://www.performanceautomatic.com/

Ive heard of them but not enough tp comment. The others listed are reputable. The Jegs one does indeed have good parts...so thats a plus. What is the warranty of them all? Id also search for their home site and read more than what Jegs has posted. Plus Ive had good pleasant Jesg experiences through the years.

Re: PA trans 700r4

I just talked with Harvey from PA trans, he said that its a very streetable trans it wont chirp the tires under normal driving conditions but when you step into it it will chip the tires. they offer a 1 year warrenty if you buy just the trans, if you buy the trans in the kit they offer with the torque connverter they offer lifetime warrenty for as long as you own the trans. not too bad of a deal really. he also said there a popular seller they cant keep them on the shelves. they did mainly stick to ford trans and th350 gm trans but have recently started doing the 700r4. I may just make myself the ginney pig on this one.

Re: PA trans 700r4

If you get the trans from PA let me know how it goes. I also looked at their website and for what the components of the trans are the price is really reasonable. I am curious to see how it holds up once one of our lead foot drivers on the website gets a hold of it.

you talk as if the trans you buy from "xyz" isn't a rebuilt unit. - not saying that buying one from a reputable shop is a bad idea, but it will still be a rebuild of some sorts.

I've built several based off of PATC's insite, and used their parts with great success. I've also heard great things about Pro Built, and picked up some good knowledge from Dana.

I'm poor, so I build my own, but that's deffinitely not for everyone. I don't reccomend it unless you have very high mechanical knowledge and skills.
