You have a short in the torque converter clutch circuit.

Re: 700r4 overdrive blowing guages fuse?

The gagues fuse supplies 12Volts to both the Gagues and the TCC 4th Lockup circuit. A Pink-Black wire leaves that fuse and goes to one of the Brake Switches at the brake pedal. The one you want has a Pink-Black in and a Purple out. From there the purple goes down to the plug on the transmission. Drivers side, halfway back and up pointing downward..its a 4-pin with 3 wires. Inside it goes to the TCC Solenoid. 1st step I would do is Unplug the 4-pin plug at the tranny. Install a new fuse, start up the car and hit the brake a few times. If the fuse blows, the BrakeSwitch is the sulprit. But most likely its not. Otherwise, they wired the TCC circuit incorectly and that is connected to a grounding pressure switch, which its not suposed to be. Or your TCC solenoind is bad and causing a dead short. Hope this helps.
