RPO code G80 on iroc

I just bought an '87 iroc parts car and one of the RPO codes is G80. The decoder calls this "G80: Axle positraction limited slip"

How can an axle be both Ls and posi?

How hard would it be to swap this rear into my 91 RS with a 3.1l v6 and 3.23s?

Re: RPO code G80 on iroc

Posi is the GM name for a LS differential.

All third gen diffs will interchange into another third gen. The only issue may be brake lines or park brake cables as they changed slightly over the years.

Positraction and limited slip are two different names for the same thing.
