I pulled the trans to put a new flex plate in a while back and its been leaking since. I think its coming from where the trans dipstick goes in. I was wondering if there is a o-ring, gasket, or bolt that needs to be tighten to get it to stop leaking.

There is a rubber grommet that fits around the dipstick tube and goes into the tranny.
Thanks

No problem.

Buy the gasket/grommet and loosen bolt to the dipstick on the tranny and just lift it. Put that grommet into the tranny not around the dipstick or it will wedge over the dipstick and leak. YOu may have to tap the dipstick tube down with a hammer and a piece of wood with a rag on the tube. Its not that hard to do.

how would one gain access to the bolt without disconnecting mounts and driveshaft., its impossible i think.

I believe I had the same problem a while back. I replaced the pan gasket 3 times before I finally saw where the leak was coming from.

You need to drop the pan and disconnect the TV cable. Then just unscrew the bolt and swap out the seal.Originally Posted by Apeiron
